Question: I would like to translate the Yale Food Addiction Scale (or one of its derivatives) from English to another language. Can I have permission for that?

Answer: I did not develop the Yale Food Addiction Scale (or any of its derivatives). The questionnaire was developed by Ashley Gearhardt and colleagues and is freely available here.

 

Question: I would like to use the German version of the Yale Food Addiction Scale (or one of its derivatives) in my study. Can I have permission for that?

Answer: Absolutely. Please find the questionnaire and more information here.

 

Question: I would like to translate the Food Cravings Questionnaire–Trait and/or the Food Cravings Questionnaire–State from English to another language. Can I have permission for that?

Answer: I did not develop the Food Cravings Questionnaires. The questionnaires were developed by Antonio Cepeda-Benito and colleagues. The items and response categories of both the English and Spanish version are displayed in the respective articles.

 

Question: I would like to use and/or translate the Food Cravings Questionnaire–Trait–reduced. Can I have permission for that?

Answer: Absolutely. Please find the German and English version and more information here. Note, however, that the Food Cravings Questionnaire–Trait–reduced is merely a subset of 15 items of the original Food Cravings Questionnaire–Trait. Thus, it may be that a translation of the items is already available in your language.

 

Question: I would like to use the German version of the short form of the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale, Eating Disorder Diagnostic Scale, Food Cravings Questionnaires, Night Eating Questionnaire, or Perceived-Self-Regulatory Success in Dieting Scale in my study. Can I have permission for that?
