Researcher in the ERC-funded project Transdiagnostic views on eating disorders and obesity and new approaches for treatment
I studied psychology at the University of Würzburg (Germany) and received my diploma in 2009 and my PhD in 2014. Before I joined the Eating Behavior Laboratory at the University of Salzburg (Austria) in 2015, I was a post-doctoral researcher at the LWL University Hospital Hamm of the Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany). I have taught courses on self- and emotion regulation and on topics in clinical and health psychology. I have reviewed manuscripts for more than 70 different scientific journals and grant proposals for four different funding agencies. In 2013, I founded the specialty section Eating Behavior of the journal Frontiers in Psychology, for which I served as specialty chief editor until 2017. I was also an editorial board member of the journal SpringerPlus and I am currently the section editor for Food Addiction of the journal Current Addiction Reports. I am currently a member of the German Psychological Society, the German Obesity Society, the German Society for Eating Disorders, the German Society for Behavioral Medicine and Behavior Modification, and the Salzburg Psychological Society.
I am interested in any aspects related to eating behavior in humans. Check out my publications here or here, find useful information about some questionnaire measures here, or contact me here.
